The Haymarket Museum is located in historic downtown Haymarket, Virginia, a small town in western Prince William County that was founded in 1799.

The Haymarket Museum is located in the old Town Hall, originally built in 1883 as the town’s school house.

This website is a work-in-progress. As research is completed, and we obtain additional photos and information, we will continue to update the site.

Please visit us often! We hope that if you have memories of living in or near the town, this site will inspire you to contact us in order to share your memories and help document both the town and the greater Haymarket area.

Civil War 150th Anniversary Seal

There are two Civil War Trails signs located to the east of the Museum describing the 1862 burning of the town and the 1863 Battle of Haymarket.

The Southern Railway Caboose is located to the west of the Museum and is open every September during the annual Haymarket Day Festival.
