Haymarket’s history spans more than two hundred and twenty years. The links to the left will take you to different time periods in that history and then to various topics.

Some topics relate to the history of buildings, houses, or farms that once existed either in the town or within a five-mile radius of it; others may present compiled data taken from primary sources such as land tax records and census schedules; still others may link to scanned documents.

It is our hope that we can present both historical narrative and “raw” data that can be used by our visitors to gain a greater understanding of Haymarket’s past.
